FAQ – Key West Parasailing

How long is the boat trip?

All of our trips are up to an hour long.  The duration depends on how many other parasailers there are on the boat.

How high does the chute go?

When parasailing in Key West, the maximum height is 300ft (or 92 meters) in the air, which means the rope is 600ft (or 183 meters) long.

Do you get wet?

All parasailers take off from the boat and land in the boat. If you’d like to get wet we can dip you in the water and get as little as your feet or as much as your whole body wet. It’s up to you!

Do you need to know how to swim?

Knowing how to swim is not a requirement for parasailing. You are equipped with a life jacket and are not required to get in the water.

Should we tip the crew & if so, how much?

Our crew works very hard to ensure your experience is GREAT! Like all in the service industry, they do work on tips. A 15-20% tip is appreciated.

Do we need a towel?

A towel is not necessary, but if you’d like to bring one there is plenty of room on the boat to store belongings while parasailing.

What is the minimum age to go parasailing?

Parasailing in Key West is safe for ages 6 years old and up! Anyone under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian with them at check in to fill out the proper forms.

Sorry, no one under the age of 6 is allowed to come along on this Key West excursion.

What are your hours?

Our parasailing trips leave on the hour, every hour. First trip is at 9:00am and we continue through till sunset.

Has anyone been bit by a shark while parasailing?

Not yet.

Is parasailing safe?

Yes, parasailing in Key West is VERY safe.

Can I parasail by myself (single)?

Probably not. The minimum weight requirement to parasail is 250lbs on most days – really depends on the weather conditions. In most cases, you would need a partner to parasail with you – so bring your friends along!!

How long am I in the air?

Each parasail ride is approximately 10 mins long.

What is the cost?

Parasailing is $55 per person.

How much do kids pay for parasailing?

Parasailing costs $55 per person, even for kids.

Where do I go to check in/parasail?

700 Front St, Slip #1

You will walk into the A&B Marina, around the A&B Lobster House and we are in the first boat slip on the side.

What time do we need to arrive for our trip?

Check in time is 30 mins prior to the trip.

It is VERY IMPORTANT to arrive early in case you have troubles finding us. Our parasail trips leave early – this is to ensure everyone gets a long ride no matter how many people are on the boat.

How many people can parasail at once?

2, sometimes 3, depending on the weather.

Triple parasails can not exceed 450lbs. In most cases, triples are made up of kids and or adults with kids. We usually can not parasail 3 full size adults.

Can I ride on the boat to watch others parasail?

Spectators are stand by only and a charge of up to the price to parasail will be assessed. Rider spots are determined approximately 15 minutes before departure.

Will you match coupons from other parasail companies?
